Dr. Richard Young is a board-certified urologist with decades of experience in urologic surgery and a special focus on cancer surgery, robotic techniques, kidney stones, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Washington and Lee University in 1983, graduating summa cum laude and earning membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Epsilon Delta. He then obtained his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1987 before completing his general surgery internship and urology residency at Georgetown University Hospital.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Young has held leadership roles in both clinical and professional organizations. He has served as Chief of Staff at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and as President of both the South Carolina Urological Association and the Grand Strand Sertoma Club. In addition to his clinical practice at Grand Strand Urology and the Carolina Urologic Research Center in Myrtle Beach, SC, Dr. Young has been actively involved in advancing research and innovation in urologic care. His commitment to excellence and patient-centered treatment has made him a respected leader in the field of urology.
