Damian Cubillas, M.D. is a Hematologist dedicated to clinical research at START Madrid-CIOCC. He obtained his Medical Degree from University of Valladolid. He has also a MSc in Forensic Medicine from University of Valencia, a MSc in Medical Affairs from University San Pablo CEU and postgraduate studies in CAR-T cell therapy from University of Vic.

He completed his training in Hematology and Hemotherapy in Hospital Clinico San Carlos from 2017 to 2021. During the COVID-19 pandemia, he was focused in clinical trials with convalescent plasma for COVID-19 patients.

After finishing the residency in Hematology, he started to work as a consultant in Hospital 12 de Octubre, with special focus in acute leukemias, lymphoma, bone marrow transplant and cell therapy, an also collaborating in clinical trials in oncohematology (early and late phase).

Afterwards, he joined Pfizer as Medical Affairs Scientist in the Oncology Medical Affairs Department with focus in acute leukemias and then he started to work in Daiichi-Sankyo as Medical Expert in an european team for the launchment of Quizartinib for AML.

Finally, he decided to focus his career in clinical trials in oncohematology and joined START Madrid CIOCC as a hematologist and clinical investigator. He is currently an active investigator in more than 40 early phase clinical trials, fully dedicated to early clinical trials and drug development in hematological malignancies.
