Brandon

Brandon Hartman is the Vice President of Patient Access and Referral Networks at The START Center for Cancer Research. In this role, he oversees the operating model, systems, processes, and performance strategies that strengthen START’s reputation and support its continued growth. He is responsible for optimizing the end-to-end patient journey—from initial referral through treatment—advancing the expansion of START’s Phase I and late-phase oncology clinical research programs.

A seasoned healthcare executive, Brandon brings more than 20 years of experience leading complex physician enterprises and driving operational transformation across multi-specialty ambulatory networks. His career includes leadership roles with Houston Methodist, Texas Children’s Hospital, and Baylor College of Medicine.

Most recently, he served as Ambulatory Chief Operating Officer at UT Health San Antonio, where he led operations for 30 ambulatory locations, including the Mays Cancer Center, and helped shape enterprise-wide clinical strategy. During his tenure, he spearheaded initiatives across multiple service lines, directed the development and operations of a new multi-specialty facility with an ambulatory surgery center, and supported the launch of the Center for Brain Health—a comprehensive neurology clinic integrating clinical care and research. He also played a key role in advancing accountable care strategies through UT Health San Antonio’s accountable care organization and value-based care programs, delivering measurable results, including shared savings in the Medicare Shared Savings Program.

Brandon holds a Master of Science in Health Administration and is recognized for his ability to collaborate with physicians and executive leaders to drive growth, improve access, and enhance financial performance.
