About Heather

Heather Kobbe is the Vice President of Human Resources at The START Center for Cancer Research, bringing over two decades of professional human resources experience across various industries, including academic health, healthcare, and mergers & acquisitions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in healthcare administration, and is certified as a SHRM-SCP.

As a transformational leader, Heather has led large-scale change initiatives throughout her career. Prior to joining START, she served as the global HR business partner for a Plasma business, where she was responsible for executing significant change initiatives related to organizational design, talent programs, HR systems, and policy harmonization. Before that, Heather held leadership positions at UT Health San Antonio, where she led transformative HR initiatives to cultivate collaborative, high-performing cultures aligned with the organization’s mission.

Heather’s expertise lies in cultivating collaborative, high-performing cultures while staying true to the mission. Her passion for fostering collaborative environments and strategic HR management make her a valuable asset to the START team.
