The START Lisbon clinic has a dedicated treatment room that includes exam rooms, treatment chairs, infusion pumps, and an on-site laboratory that can perform same day testing.

Clinical Laboratory
START Lisbon has an on-site laboratory that can perform same day testing. This includes:
- CBC
- CMP
- UA with microscopy
- Thyroid panels
- Select Hepatitis panels
Clinical Equipment
All equipment is annually inspected and calibrated and includes:
- Crash cart complete with intubation equipment
- Infusion pumps
- Syringe pumps
- Electronic vital signs monitoring
Investigational Drug Section (IDS)
Pharmacy Equipment
All equipment is annually inspected and calibrated and includes the following:
- 1 biological safety cabinet
- Negative pressure clean room
- Positive pressure anteroom
- Secure medication storage room with continuous temperature monitoring for both cold storage and room temperature storage
- 1 pharmaceutical grade -20°C freezer
- 1 pharmaceutical grade -80°C freezer
- 1 pharmaceutical grade refrigerator 2 – 8°C
- Room temperature storage shelving (20 – 25°C)
Pharmacokinetics
Biopsy Specimens
PK department staff are present at the time of biopsy and process specimens according to protocol requirements
Laboratory Equipment
All equipment is annually inspected and calibrated and includes the following:
- Refrigerated / room temperature centrifuges (3000g(rcf)/4400 rpm)
- -80°C / -20°C freezer with continuous temperature monitoring
- Pharmaceutical grade refrigerator 2 – 8°C
- Room temperature storage shelving

The Regulatory Affairs Department ensures compliance with all regulatory and industry requirements by following FDA and GCP guidelines for every study.
