Alex Bruni is the Chief Financial Officer at The START Center for Cancer Research. He is a proven business leader with more than twenty-five years of experience in strategic finance, operations and M&A across the biopharma and healthcare industries. He has a strong track record of building strong teams, enhancing business analytics, and improving companies’ abilities to serve their customers.

Before joining START, Alex was Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Owens & Minor, a publicly traded global healthcare company. Prior to Owens & Minor, Alex served as Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer for Centerline Communications and was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Torque Therapeutics, an immuno-oncology company. Previously, Alex served in multiple Vice President positions including Finance, Corporate FP&A, Continuous Improvement and Corporate Development at Patheon, a pharmaceutical services company, that is now part of Thermo Fisher. Prior to Patheon, he held strategic Finance and Operations leadership positions at Merz Pharmaceuticals, CombinatoRx, Sepracor, and EMD Serono.

Alex holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in business administration from Babson College.
